Stewards conducted a track inspection as a precautionary measure at the request of the on course Veterinary Surgeon, due to the incident involving Toff in race one.  Stewards deemed the surface suitable for racing.

Trademark Rocky and Brandeen Peaches were slow to begin.  Trademark Rocky checked off Tink Allen on the first turn.  Archaic Potion checked off Stephie Keats on the second turn. Stephie Keats, Miranlou and Archaic Potion collided on the third turn, checking Miranlou and Archaic Potion.  Tink Allen faltered and pulled on the fifth turn.  Miranlou checked off Destini Fortress in the home straight.  Stephie Keats tailed off in the event.

Stephie Keats was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Stewards spoke to Mr R Floyd, the representative of Stephie Keats, regarding the rise in distance the grehound was nominated for.  Mr Floyd advised Stewards that the greyhound was one paced and in his opinion a rise in distance would suit.  Mr Floyd further advised Stewards that the greyhound had not trailled over a distance further than 595m at Traralgon.  Stewards deemed the performance of Stephie Keats unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Stephie Keats must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Tink Allen was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hindleg hock injury, a 90 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr D Bate, the trainer of Tink Allen, regarding the rise in distance.  Mr Bate advised Stewards that the greyhound had been slowly building up in distance and he believed that the greyhound was fit enough to compete at this distance.
