Stewards conducted a track inspection prior to race one as a precautionary measure after heavy rain during the kennelling process.  Stewards deemed the surface suitable for racing.

Dundee Tango, Give Away King and Spring Ripper were slow to begin.  Pink Floyd, Stilton Stitch and Toff collided soon after the start.  Cambo's Cindy, Alpha Themis and Toff collided on the first turn, checking Toff.  Stilton Stitch checked off Toff on the second turn.  Alpha Themis checked off Toff on the third turn.  Stilton Stitch and Toff collided approaching the home turn, checking Alpha Themis and Stilton Stitch, severely checking Pink Floyd, Give Away King and Toff; Toff fell as a result.  Alpha Themis and Stilton Stitch collided entering the home straight.

Toff was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right foreleg elbow injury and humerus fracture, and was humanely euthanased.

Spring Ripper was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left foreleg laceration and deltoid inury, a seven day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards conducted a track inspection as a precautionary measure at the request of the on course Veterinary Surgeon, due to the incident involving Toff in race one.  Stewards deemed the surface suitable for racing.

Trademark Rocky and Brandeen Peaches were slow to begin.  Trademark Rocky checked off Tink Allen on the first turn.  Archaic Potion checked off Stephie Keats on the second turn. Stephie Keats, Miranlou and Archaic Potion collided on the third turn, checking Miranlou and Archaic Potion.  Tink Allen faltered and pulled on the fifth turn.  Miranlou checked off Destini Fortress in the home straight.  Stephie Keats tailed off in the event.

Stephie Keats was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Stewards spoke to Mr R Floyd, the representative of Stephie Keats, regarding the rise in distance the grehound was nominated for.  Mr Floyd advised Stewards that the greyhound was one paced and in his opinion a rise in distance would suit.  Mr Floyd further advised Stewards that the greyhound had not trailled over a distance further than 595m at Traralgon.  Stewards deemed the performance of Stephie Keats unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Stephie Keats must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Tink Allen was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hindleg hock injury, a 90 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr D Bate, the trainer of Tink Allen, regarding the rise in distance.  Mr Bate advised Stewards that the greyhound had been slowly building up in distance and he believed that the greyhound was fit enough to compete at this distance.

Stewards conducted a track inspection as a precautionary measure after Tink Allen suffered a right hock fracture approaching the home turn in race two. Stewards deemed the surface suitable for racing. 

You Bug Me was quick to begin.  Destini Riptide was slow to begin.  Scarlet Tru Blu checked off Destini Colorado soon after the start.  Destini Colorado and Flying Class collided approaching the first turn.  Flying Class checked off Benny's Entity on the first turn.  Scarlet Tru Blu checked off Bont's Magic on the second turn.  Destini Colorado and Destini Riptide collided on the second turn.  Destini Colorado contacted the running rail on the third turn.  Benny's Entity and You Bug Me collided entering the home straight and again in the home straight.  

Destini Colorado was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left foreleg deltoid injury, a five day stand down period was imposed.

Oppie Bale was quick to begin.  Back On Lava, Evanta Nemo and Bombastic Tim were slow to begin.  Back On Lava and Bombastic Tim collided on the second turn, severely checking both greyhounds.  Mimosa checked off Evanta Nemo on the third turn.

Master Rico and Pictish Mark were slow to begin.  My Miss Molly and Invictus Glory collided approaching the first turn.  My Miss Molly checked off Galloping Fantom on the first turn, checking My Miss Molly, Master Rico, Claude Van Keats and Dr Illuminate.

A pre-race sample was taken from Augustus Dagloop.

Dewana Result was slow to begin.  Augustus Dagloop and Allen Kev collided soon after the start.  White Bandit, Augustus Dagloop and Yuken Duet collided approaching the first turn.  White Bandit, Augustus Dagloop and Yuken Duet collided on the first turn, checking Augustus Dagloop, Yuken Duet and Dewana Result; causing Dewana Result to race wide as a result.

Carry On Elvis was a late scratching at 8:31 am, due to illness (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

A pre-race sample was taken from Golden Warrior.

Zambora Beau was quick to begin.  Blue Gum Hill, Boda Boda and Golden Warrior collided approaching the first turn.  Ruby's Flame checked off Golden Warrior on the first turn.  Born Billy and Boda Boda collided on the first turn.  Born Billy, Boda Boda and Golden Warrior collided on the second turn, checking Boda Boda.  Ruby's Flame galloped on Golden Warrior in the back straight, checking both greyhounds.  Born Billy and Boda Boda collided on the third turn.

Henry, Jake and Double Dose collided on the first turn, checking Jake and Double Dose.  Fear The Boss, Queen Yuna and Arabella Figg collided on the first turn, checking Queen Yuna and Arabella Figg.  Fear The Boss and Henry collided on the second turn.  Double Dose checked off Arabella Figg on the second turn.  Henry checked off Fear The Boss on the fourth turn.  Henry checked off Fear The Boss approaching the home turn.  Jake and Arabella Figg collided on the home turn.

Stewards spoke to Mr K Wright, the trainer of Latifi Nick Nack, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Latifi Nick Nack last raced on 11th December, 2016 and is returning to racing after a spell. Mr. Wright declared a new weight of 39.4kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Latifi Nick Nack last raced at 38.3kgs.

Sally's Cookie was quick to begin.  Magic Innings was slow to begin.  Canal Court and Miss Montez collided soon after the start.  Sally's Cookie and Miss Montez collided approaching the first turn, checking Miss Montez.  Magic Innings, Sally's Cookie and Lettuce Hold On collided on the first turn, checking Sally's Cookie, Miss Montez and Lettuce Hold On.  Fipa Narchi and Latifi Nick Nack collided on the first turn, checking Latifi Nick Nack.  Sally's Cookie and Latifi Nick Nack collided on the second turn.

Dark Portal was a late scratching at 1:08 pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon, due to dehydration.  A three day stand down period was imposed.

Rockalot checked off Lektra Peck approaching the first turn.  Lektra Peck and Dr Gidget collided on the first turn, checking Lektra Peck and Rockalot.  Lizzie Fields checked off Dashing Moments on the first turn.  Lizzie Fields checked off Dashing Moments on the third turn.
