Thomas Dee was slow to begin. Ving Bale crossed to the rail soon after the start. Surefire and Miss Lava collided approaching the first turn. Pupetta Maresca and Surefire collided on the first turn. Pattaya Paul and Surefire collided approaching the second turn and agiain on the second turn. Pupetta Maresca and Miss Lava collided on the second turn, causing Miss Lava to race wide. Ving Bale checked off the heels of Thomas Dee in the back straight. Miss Lava raced wide in the back straight. Pattaya Paul and Surefire collided approaching the third turn. Thomas Dee and Double Dose collided on the home turn, checking Double Dose.

Miss Lava was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained spike wounds to the right foreleg, and injuries to both deltoid muscles, a seven day stand down period was imposed.
