A sample was attempted to be taken from Kerrie's One upon arrival on course and was unable to be obtained; A pre race sample was subsequently taken.
Californa Levo was quick to begin. Jetmag Ink and Wicked Intent were slow to begin. Max Roxy and Miss Fox collided soon after the start. It's Debatable was checked off Kerrie's One on the first turn. Kerrie's One, Max Roxy, Jetmag Ink and Wicked Intent collided on the first turn checking It's Debatable, Max Roxy and Wicked Intent, Jetmag Ink brushed the running rail as a result. Kerrie's One brushed the running rail in the back straight. It's Debatable was checked off Wicked Intent in the back straight. Kerrie's One crossed to the outside on the second turn checking Aston Sprite. Max Roxy and Wicked Intent collided on the second turn checking Wicked Intent which brushed the running rail
