Jazzy New Year was slow to begin.  Our Wild Emily and Johnny Bullet collided soon after the start.  Dance A Tron and Kayo King collided soon after the start.  Zipping Stu, Dance A Tron, Kayo King and Johnny Bullet collided on the first turn checking Kayo King and Johnny Bullet and severely checking Our Wild Emily, Zipping Stu and Jazzy New Year and causing Dance A Tron to fall.  Kayo King was checked off Johnny Bullet approaching the second turn.  Our Wild Emily and Zipping Stu collided approaching the second turn.  Our Wild Emily and Jazzy New Year collided on the home turn.

Dance A Tron was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the left hind pad,  a spike wound to the right hind pad, a torn nail on left hind toe, an injured left and right calf and left and right thigh, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Johnny Bullet was vetted following the event after an incident in the catching pen.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

A sample was taken from Henry - winner of the event.

Following the event it was reported that the catching pen gate had become self locked causing the first three greyhounds to continue through the gate after the event. Stewards spoke with track staff and after testing the gate, no further problems were reported. The three greyhounds involved were uninjured. 

Lauren Kasey was quick to begin.  Mandela Sun and Zamlee Magic were slow to begin.  Fallen Star and Bright Sky collided soon after the start checking Bright Sky.  Bright Sky, Zamlee Magic and Bandit Brad collided on the first turn checking Imposing Flame and Bandit Brad.  Mandela Sun and Fallen Star collided on the first turn.  Imposing Flame and Bandit Brad collided approaching the home turn checking Bandit Brad.  Mandela Sun crossed to the rail in the home straight and collided several times with Lauren Kasey checking both greyhounds and causing Lauren Kasey to contact the running rail.

Lauren Kasey was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the left hind toe, no stand down period was imposed.

Mandela Sun was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right pencil muscle, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from Zamlee Magic - winner of the event.

Stewards spoke with Mr P Pollutro, the trainer of Mandela Sun regarding interference caused in the home straight. Mr Pollutro stated that the greyhound's racing pattern is to head to the rail and in his opinion this was the cause of the interferene. After reviewing the video replay, head on footage and based on Stewards own observations, it was concluded that the interference casued was a direct result of Mandela Sun crossing to the rail and on this occasion no further action was taken. 

A sample was attempted to be taken from Kerrie's One upon arrival on course and was unable to be obtained; A pre race sample was subsequently taken. 

Californa Levo was quick to begin.  Jetmag Ink and Wicked Intent were slow to begin.  Max Roxy and Miss Fox collided soon after the start.  It's Debatable was checked off Kerrie's One on the first turn.  Kerrie's One, Max Roxy, Jetmag Ink and Wicked Intent collided on the first turn checking It's Debatable, Max Roxy and Wicked Intent, Jetmag Ink brushed the running rail as a result.  Kerrie's One brushed the running rail in the back straight.  It's Debatable was checked off Wicked Intent in the back straight.  Kerrie's One crossed to the outside on the second turn checking Aston Sprite.  Max Roxy and Wicked Intent collided on the second turn checking Wicked Intent which brushed the running rail  

A sample was attempted to be taken from Barroom Counsel upon arrival on course and was unable to be obtained; A pre race sample was subsequently taken.

Wot Price Flash and Blue Alcatraz were slow to begin.  Landon, Barroom Counsel and Miss Cintiarna collided soon after the start.  Wot Price Flash and Miss Cintiarna collided on the first turn severely checking Miss Cintiarna and Cheerful Scout and causing Blue Alcatraz to fall.  Wot Price Flash, Barroom Counsel and Melody Pond collided entering the back straight.

Blue Alcatraz was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a graze to the right front pad, no stand down period was imposed.

Jai Alai, Tiger Rance and Maisy Mac were quick to begin.  Mick Mow and Aston Philou collided soon after the start checking Mick Mow.  Jai Alai, Tiger Rance and Maisy Mac collided on the first turn.  You Say So and Aston Sloan collided on the first turn checking Aston Sloan.  Aston Philou and Aston Sloan collided on the second turn checking Aston Sloan.  Mick Mow and You Say So collided on the home turn.  Maisy Mac raced wide on the home turn.  Aston Philou and Aston Sloan collided approaching the winning post.

This event jumped approximately 8 mins late after the boxes failed to open on first attempt. All greyhounds were removed from the boxes, vetted and passed fit to race.

A pre-race sample was taken from Unsub Andy.

Jordy Shiack was slow to begin.  Zipping Kane, Headline and Pipeline Rumour collided on the first turn checking Pipeline Rumour.  Jordy Shiack, Pipeline Rumour and Zipping Scarlet collided entering the front straight.  Sally Gardens and Jordy Shiack collided in the front straight.  Jordy Shiack faltered in the back straight and subsequently pulled up.  Paddles Anderson clipped the heels of Zipping Kane in the home straight and subsequently fell.

Paddles Anderson was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained grazes to the right front pad and right hind pad, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Jordy Shiack was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured right hock and was humanely euthanased.

A sample was taken from Zipping Kane - winner of the event.

Starter, Mr L Sullivan informed Stewards he had inadvertently switched the amber light off instead of activating the green light, which enables the  lure to trigger the lids to open. Steward's issued Mr Sullivan with a warning.

Stewards spoke to Mr A Inger (lure driver). Mr Inger stated he was unsure at the time if the green light had failed and he had been given the secondary indication by the starter via a wave to indicate he was clear to start the race. Mr Inger's explanation was noted and he was given a reminder of his responsibilities to ensure that all starting signals be activated before commencing the lure run up. 

This event jumped approximately 2 minutes late following the delay in race 6.

Perfect Metre and Lakeview Luke collided soon after the start.  Marciarno Miss and Perfect Metre collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn.  Spritely Boy crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Keep it Dark, Flip and Bring Sexy Back.  Keep it Dark, Bring Sexy Back and Dr. Brandon collided on the first turn severely checking Keep It Dark and Flip.  Perfect Metre crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Flip, Spritely Boy, Marciarno Miss and Lakeview Luke.  Spritely Boy and Perfect Metre collided on the second turn checking Spritely Boy.  Flip and Marciarno Miss collided on the second turn checking Lakeview Luke causing Lakeview Luke and Dr. Brandon to collided, Lakeview Luke was severely checked as a result.  Flip and Marciarno Miss collided on the third turn.  Flip and Bring Sexy Back collided approaching the home turn.  Flip raced wide on the home turn.  Bring Sexy Back and Dr. Brandon collided approaching the winning post.  Spritely Boy and Perfect Metre collided approaching the winning post.

El Surrao, Zigstar and Louie Neveelk collided soon after the start checking El Surrao and Louie Neveelk.  Lister Bale and Thunderlips collided on the first turn checking Thunderlips, Daliya Bale and Golden.  Golden was checked off Zigstar on the second turn.  Louie Neveelk and Daliya Bale collided on the home turn.

Golden was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right pencil muscle, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

A sample was attempted to be taken from Go Little Pebble upon arrival on course and was unable to be obtained.

Hit The Beat and Buckle Up Nikki were quick to begin.  Go Little Pebble and Hawka Tron were slow to begin.  Hugh Made Who, Buckle Up Nikki, Sir Reuben, Project Boy and Busta Voe collided on the first turn checking Buckle Up Nikki, Project Boy and Hawka Tron and severely checking Busta Voe and causing Sir Reuben to fall.  Hugh Made Who was checked off Hit The Beat on the home turn.

Sir Reuben was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

Stewards spoke to Mr G Glass, the trainer of Knocka's Choir regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Knocka's Chior last raced 1 December, 2015 and had been on season during this time. 

Noaki Lynx was quick to begin.  Waterfront, Knocka's Choir and Kid Audacious collided soon after the start checking Waterfront and Knocka's Choir.  Renee Boucheau crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Lil Arthur, Phil's In Luck and Bob's Gift.  Kid Audacious was checked off Phil's In Luck on the first turn causing Kid Audacious to contact the running rail.  Phil's In Luck galloped on Bob's Gift approaching the home turn.

A pre-race sample was taken from Amlin Mystique.

Le Doyen was quick to begin.  Harvey Leigh and Dovizioso collided soon after the start checking Harvey Leigh.  Empire Lightning was checked off Dovizioso on the first turn.  Locomotion was checked off All About Arby on the first turn checking Harvey Leigh and severely checking Locomotion and Empire Lightning, both greyhounds stumbled as a result.  All About Arby and Dovizioso collided entering the back straight.  Amlin Mystique was checked off Le Doyen on the second turn.  

Dovizioso was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

Tron's Son was a late scratching at 12:17pm due to injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Steward's will require a veterinary certificate before any future nominations will be accepted.

A pre-race sample was taken from Zelemar Zest.

Strongbeth was quick to begin.  Oscar's Champ and Zelemar Zest were slow to begin.  Oscar's Champ and Darcon Dash collided on the first turn checking Darcon Dash.  Make Us Magic and Won Wron Flyer collided on the first turn.  Oscar's Champ was checked off Won Wron Flyer approaching the home turn.  Zelemar Zest and Make Us Magic collided on the home turn checking Darcon Dash.  Oscar's Champ raced wide in the home straight.
