Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr.J.Kruisselbrink, the trainer of Hoi Polloi, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Hoi Polloi last raced on 6th October 2015. Mr.Kruisselbrink stated that Hoi Polloi was returning to race after being on season.
Mr.C. Morris-Flynn trainer of Little Ferret declared a new weight of 28.6kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Little Ferret last raced at 27.2kgs.
A pre-race sample was taken from Calabrese Coco.
Powerful Stress was slow to begin. Calabrese Coco, Hoi Polloi and Rockin' Riri collided soon after the start checking Calabrese Coco and Hoi Polloi; Calabrese Coco stumbled as a result. Kinloch Creek and Rockin' Riri collided several times approaching the first turn checking Kinloch Creek, Rockin' Riri, Hoi Polloi and Little Ferret. Shifty Lilly and Jack's Alouette collided on the home turn. Hoi Polloi checked off Little Ferret on the home turn.
Calabrese Coco was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left thigh. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Hoi Polloi was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
