Stewards spoke to Mr.G.Carr, the trainer of Magic Dance regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Magic Dance last raced on 4th November 2015.  Mr.Carr stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following a change of kennels.

Mr. Banks, which performed below market expectations, was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left hock. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Handler, Mr. S. Melville advised stewards that in his opinion  the greyhound is more suited to an inside draw.

Madeleine Jay, Our Nico and Promise Land were slow to begin.  Our Nico and Promise Land collided soon after the start.  Ceejay Whim, Marble Hill, Despicable Jazz and Nice Nurse Frank collided approaching the first turn checking Ceejay Whim, Marble Hill and Despicable Jazz.  Ceejay Whim checked off Despicable Jazz on the first turn and collided with Marble Hill as a result.  Promise Land checked off Our Nico on the first turn.  Ceejay Whim and Promise Land collided in the home straight.

Mr.C. Morris-Flynn trainer of Little Ferret declared a new weight of 28.6kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Little Ferret last raced at 27.2kgs.

A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Tiny Profit, a post race sample was subsequently taken.

Cee Jay Mac trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 1, weight 28.4kgs.  The greyhound was placed 3rd, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 22.49. The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 3.5 lengths.  Cee Jay Mac was cleared.
