Pingu was slow to begin. Mighty Sprite, Cruisy's Luck, To The Galo's and Pretty Boy Grigg collided soon after the start, checking Cruisy's Luck and Pretty Boy Grigg. Pretty Boy Grigg checked off Mighty Sprite approaching the first turn. Noonbarra Joe checked off To The Galo's on the first turn. Mighty Sprite faltered approaching the home turn.
Mighty Sprite was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right thigh and right chest muscle, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.
