Stewards spoke to Ms. E, Palma, the trainer of Oakstar regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Oakstar last raced on 31st of December, 2016. Ms. Palma stated that Oakstar is returning to racing from being on season.

The start of this race was delayed by approximately 5 minutes owing to the flap on the catching pen gate being jammed. Remedial work was undertaken to ensure this was operational.
