A pre-race sample was taken from Cosmic Kilby.
Lana Lass, Saint Elite and Spring Saviour were slow to begin. Kilty's Tiger, Sunny Breaks and Home Runner collided approaching the first turn. Kilty's Tiger, Sunny Breaks, Home Runner and Maximum Moo collided on the first turn checking Sunny Breaks and Maximum Moo. Spring Saviour checked off Saint Elite approaching the home turn. Saint Elite, Home Runner and Maximum Moo collided on the home turn checking Home Runner and Maximum Moo.
Sunny Breaks which trailed the field was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its left monkey muscle and right back muscle. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
