Steward's Report

Blitzen Bell and Chum's Special were quick to begin.  Gold Trail and Manhattan Man were slow to begin.  Karaoke Ken checked off Lettuce Hold On soon after the start.  Lettuce Hold On checked off Major Gold approaching the first turn.  Gold Trail and Karaoke Ken collided approaching the first turn.  Blitzen Bell checked off Major Gold on the first turn checking Rising Girl.  Gold Trail and Lettuce Hold On collided approaching the home turn.  Major Gold and Chum's Special raced wide approaching the home turn.  Major Gold failed to pursue the lure with due commitment approaching the home turn.  Rising Girl and Chum's Special collided approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Hodgson, the trainer of the greyhound Major Gold regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn.  Major Gold was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left monkey muscle.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged Major Gold with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Hodgson pleaded guilty to the charge.  Major Gold was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

A sample was taken from Blitzen Bell, the winner of the event.
