Steward's Report
Miss Hanna Berry was quick to begin. Race Roquette and Titanium Boy collided soon after the start checking Race Roquette. Miss Hanna Berry and Fan The Top collided approaching the first turn checking Fan The Top. Shadow Diamond and Santana collided approaching the first turn checking Santana. Bent Nail eased on the first turn checking Rodeo and Race Roquette. Miss Hanna Berry checking off Shadow Diamond on the first turn. Shadow Diamond, Rodeo and Bent Nail collided on the home turn.
Bent Nail was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 3, it was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Labozzetta, the trainer of the greyhound Bent Nail regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1), Stewards charged Bent Nail with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Labozzetta failed to enter a plea on behalf of the greyhound. Bent Nail was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warragul and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards will make inquiries into the reason Mr. Labozetta left the course without having Bent Nail's weight card endorsed at a date to be fixed.
