A pre race sample was taken from Sunday Sipper.
Emi's Boy Badger was quick to begin. Powerful Senor was slow to begin. Sally's Cookie, Convoy and Maximum Moo collided soon after the start checking Convoy and Maximum Moo. Banjo Barbie checked off Sally's Cookie approaching the first turn. Powerful Senor, Emi's Boy Badger and Sunday Sipper collided approaching the first turn checking Emi's Boy Badger. Convoy, Banjo Barbie and Maximum Moo collided on the first turn checking Banjo Barbie and severely checking Maximum Moo which stumbled as a result. Sunday Sipper and Powerful Senor collided approaching the home turn checking Sally's Cookie and Powerful Senor. Emi's Boy Badger raced wide in the home straight.
Maximum Moo was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right thigh and a spike wound to the left foreleg. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Powerful Senor was vetted and after being re-vetted following event nine, it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the long head triceps, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
