A pre-race sample was taken from Bletcley.
Cash Car Star was slow to begin. Mister Blue and Archi Willow collided approaching the first turn. Kraken Tilda and King Of Sunshine collided on the first turn checking Kraken Tilda. Mister Blue and Archi Willow collided on the first turn checking King Of Sunshine and Mister Blue. Kraken Tilda, King Of Sunshine, Mister Blue and Archi Willow collided approaching the home turn. Mister Blue and King Of Sunshine collided on the home turn. Zelemar Leap marred Sqeaky Gate entering the home straight. Zelemar Leap and Squeaky Gate collided several times in the home straight. Bletcley raced wide in the home straight.
Zelemar Leap was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Tolson, the trainer of the greyhound Zelemar Leap regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Zelemar Leap with marring. Mr. Tolson pleaded guilty to the charge, Zelemar Leap was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
