Stewards spoke to Mr G.Shaw, the trainer of Left Is Right regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Left Is Right last raced on 2 November, 2015. Mr Shaw stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after sustaining a fractured left scapula. Mr Shaw also declared a new weight of 35.1kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Left Is Right last raced at 33.1kg.

Oma's Girl was quick to begin. Shifty Jack and Punk Panther collided soon after the start, checking Punk Panther. All Over checked off No Jockey Needed soon after the start.
