Pretty Boy Grigg was slow to begin. Bryvon and Tear Away Kuda collided soon after the start, checking Tear Away Kuda. Kosmik King crossed to the rail approaching the first turn, checking Valletta Chief and Maximum Bella. Kosmik King and Hard Bargain collided approaching the first turn, checking Hard Bargain. Tear Away Kuda faltered approaching the first turn and collided with Maximum Bella, Tear Away Kuda subsequently tailed off. Pretty Boy Grigg checked off Valletta Chief approaching the home turn. Hard Bargain checked off Kosmik King approaching the home turn. Who's That Chap and Pretty Boy Grigg collided entering the home straight, checking Pretty Boy Grigg. Pretty Boy Grigg and Kosmik King collided approaching the winning post.
Tear Away Kuda was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to both hamstrings, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
