Ninja Fighter and Tally Ho Jack were slow to begin. Lacey's Lad crossed to the rail approaching the first turn, checking Yucatan, Bookie and Ninja Fighter. Bookie and Yucatan collided approaching the first turn, checking Bookie. Ninja Fighter galloped on the heels of Alyssa's Girl approaching the first turn, checking Yucatan and severely checking Ninja Fighter and Alyssa's Girl, causing both greyhounds to stumble. Lacey's Lad, Yucatan and Quotation Mark raced wide in the home straight. Tally Ho Jack and Moreira Magic collided in the home straight. Tally Ho Jack and Bookie collided approaching the winning post.
Ninja Fighter was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained spike wounds to the left front webbing. No stand down period was imposed.
