Cheesa Ya Later galloped on the heels of Aston Adele approaching the home turn checking Fencer and Mud Kipper causing Mud Kipper to become unbalanced and severely checking Cheese Ya Later and Aston Adele, Cheese Ya Later fell as a result. Behind The Mask, Fencer and Our Luck collided on the home turn checking Fencer and Our Luck. Mud Kipper and Our Luck collided in the home straight. Behind The Mask raced wide in the home straight.

Chief Tommy and Judy's Wish were slow to begin.

Roshani's Dream, Deadset Jet, Cape Cruiser and Senni William collided soon after the start checking  Deadset Jet, Cape Cruiser and Senni William. Deadset Jet and Cape Cruiser collided approaching the first turn checking Cape Cruiser. Watsargo Sarge and Deadset Jet collided on the first turn checking Watsargo Sarge. Judy's Wish and Onslaught collided approaching the home turn checking Onslaught. Senni William checked off Cape Cruiser approaching the home turn. Deadset Jet and Chief Tommy collided in the home straight checking Deadset Jet. Roshani's Dream and Judy's Wish collided approaching the winning post. 

Senni William which performed below marked expectations was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury.

Channing Bale was a late scratching at 6:37PM due to non arrival (GAR 31). a 28 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Heather Collins was fined the sum of $100. 

Stewards spoke to Mr.S.Gibilisco, the trainer of Bobby Tron regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Bobby Tron last raced on 3 September 2015.. Mr. Gibilisco  stated that  Bobby Tron was returning to race following an injury to its right hock.

Stewards spoke to Mr.J.Ennis, the trainer of Esparza regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Esparza last raced on 26.September 2015. Mr.Ennis stated that  Esparza was returning to race after being on season.

Jet Mikado was a late scratching at 6:37PM due to non arrival (GAR 31). a 28 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Paul Jones was fined the sum of $100.

Swan To Steele, Can Can Hurrican and Asterix Rose collided soon after the start checking Swan To Steele and Can Can Hurrican. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr J Ennis (Spring Missile) regarding the greyhounds performance. Mr Ennis stated in his opinion the greyhound would be better suited to racing over a shorter distance.

The start of this race was delayed 3 minnutes due to Sky Channel committments at Launceston gallops.

Backline Willy and Boo Shey collided soon after the start checking Backline Willy. Tonto's Mate, Who's That Chap and Crackerjack Cam collided soon after the start checking Who's That Chap. Julie Riley, trainer of Diamond apple declared a new weight of 27.4kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Diamond Apple last raced at 26.1kgs.

Stewards spoke to Mr.K.Lloyd, the trainer of Barked Off regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Barked Off last raced on 21 October 2015.Mr. Lloyd   stated that  Barked Off was returning to racefollowing a change of kennels.

Barked Off and Jaraig Gangster collided soon after the start. Rhapsody Twist and Extradition collided several times approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds and causing Extradition to contact the running rail. Rhapsody Twist, Extradition and Stolen Gem collided approaching the first turn checking Stolen Gem. Rhapsody Twist and Stolen Gem raced wide in the home straight.
