Happy Hudson was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the left calf, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Al's Luck was slow to begin. Hashtag Johnny was quick to begin. Southwood Trump and Southwood Hazel collided on the first turn, checking Southwood Hazel. Corleone King and Zorro Creek collided approaching the home turn, checking Tally Ho Jack. Tally Ho Jack checked off Hashtag Johnny on the home turn, and collided with Southwood Hazel. Southwood Hazel checked off Tally Ho Jack in the home straight. 

Captain Pete was slow to begin. Invented, Media Street and Miss Morrisset collided soon after the start, checking Invented and Media Street. Destroy I Said, Lucky Chap and Miss Morrisset collided approaching the first turn, checking Destroy I Said. Invented and Media Street collided on the first turn, checking Invented, which contacted the running rail. Destroy I Said checked off Lucky Chap approaching the home turn. Chasing James galloped on the heels of Miss Morrisset approaching the home turn.

Stewards spoke to Mr. A. Azzopardi, the trainer of Marbo's Magic regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Marbo's Magic last raced on 21st October, 2016.  Mr. Azzopardi stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following an injury to the right metacarpal.

Regional Chief was slow to begin. Charlie Rocket and Rowchester Star collided on the first turn, checking Rowchester Star. Charlie Rocket, Mint Boy and Regional Chief collided approaching the home turn, severeyl checking Regional Chief, which fell as a result. Charlie Rocket raced wide on the home turn.
