Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Vivian Shiraz upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
Bucky Barnes, Arapaho Joe and Dr. Kestrel were slow to begin.
Dr. Frankie and Calendar Boy collided soon after the start. Vivian Shiraz and So Fine collided soon after the start. Calandar Boy and Arapaho Joe collided on the first turn checking Arapaho Joe. Dr. Frankie and Bucky Barnes collided on the first turn. Dr. Frankie eased and collided with Calander Boy approaching the home turn. So Fine and Vivian Shiraz collided on the home turn. So Fine, Bucky Barnes and Vivian Shiraz collided on the home turn. Arapaho Joe and Dr. Frankie collided approaching g the winning post.
Samples were taken from placegetters - Bucky Barnes (1st) and Dr. Kestrel (2nd).
Dr. Frankie was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right deltoid injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Ms J. Gill, the representative of the greyhound Dr. Frankie regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Dr. Frankie with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms Gill pleaded guilty to the charge, Dr. Frankie was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
