A pre-race sample was taken from Jesaulenko upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.

Jesaulenko and Shima Bar were slow to begin.
Don't Kid Me and Demon Bale collided soon after the start. Allen Dynamo and Aeroplane Bob collided soon after the start. Don't Kid Me and Mystery Ride collided approaching the first turn. Allen Dynamo, Aeroplane Bob and Demon Bale collided approaching the home turn checking Aeroplane Bob. Don't Kid Me, Mystery Ride, Jesaulenko and Shima Bar collided on the first turn checking Jesaulenko and causing Shima Bar to fall. Allen Dynamo and Demon Bale collided on the second turn. Aeroplane Bob, Diego Bale and Mystery Ride collided on the second turn checking Mystery Ride. Demon Bale checked off Diego Bale on the home turn. Diego Bale and Jesaulenko collided on the home turn. Diego Bale failed to pursue the lure with due commitment and collided with Jesaulenko entering the home straight.
Shima Bar was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left radius ulna fracture, a 90 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr M.Stringer, the trainer of the greyhound Diego Bale regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Diego Bale was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to abrasions to the left calf and right metatarsal, no stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Diego Bale with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Stringer pleaded guilty to the charge, Deigo Bale was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
