Steward's Report
Bob On was a late scratching at at 7:42am due to injury to the left hind leg (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
A pre race sample was taken from Platinum Force.
Cosmic Lady checked off Platinum Force soon after the start. Begin Again, Tanjira and Mistel Allen collided approaching the first turn. King Of Sunshine and Cosmic Lady collided on the first turn checking Cosmic Lady. Platinum Force galloped on the heels of Cosmic Lady on the first turn checking Cosmic Lady and Mistel Allen. Cosmic Lady, Mistel Allen and Platinum Force collided approaching the home turn checking all three greyhounds. King Of Sunshine and Tanjira collided on the home turn.
Platinum Force was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Ms. K. Collyer, the trainer of West On Xandi regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. West On Xandi last raced on 29th June 2016. Ms. Collyer stated that the greyhound was returning to race after a right wrist injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A, West On Xandi trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 1, weight 26.8kgs. The greyhound was placed 3rd, in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.78. The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 3.5 lengths. West On Xandi was cleared.
Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Abela, the representative of the greyhound Oakleigh Rose regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Oakleigh Rose last raced on 22nd July 2016. Mr. Abela stated that the greyhound was returning to race after being on season. Pursuant to GAR 77A. Oakleigh Rose trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 3, weight 30.1kgs. The greyhound was placed 1st, in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.78. The greyhound won by a margin of 2.75 lengths. Oakleigh Rose was cleared.
