Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr J Collins, the trainer of Gator Bale, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Gator Bale last raced on 15 October 2016. Mr Collins stated that the greyhound was returning to race following injuries to both hocks.
A pre-race sample was taken from Magic Reindeer.
Magic Reindeer, Brazen Beetroot and Angel Of Glory were quick to begin. Captain Pete and Loving Angels were slow to begin. Magic Reindeer, Brazen Beetroot and Angel Of Glory collided approaching the first turn, checking Brazen Beetroot. Gator Bale and Beyond Today collided on the first turn. Brazen Beetroot and Angel Of Glory collided on the home turn. Brazen Beetroot and Maximum Moo collided in the home straight. Beyond Today and Brazen Beetroot collided in the home straight.
Meeting Comments.
Stewards conducted an inquiry into the removal of the incorrect greyhound from the Bendigo meeting on 7 October 2016. Trainer, Mr B Shillington was charged under GAR 86(o) with negligence. Mr Shillington pleaded guilty and was fined the sum of $250.
