Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Aston Zeppo.
Monster Machine was slow to begin.
Call Me Matt and Beaumont collided soon after the start. Beaumont and Ninth Legion collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn checking Beaumont and severely checking Ninth Legion. Monster Machine and Rosanna collided on the first turn. Rosanna checked off Beaumont approaching the second turn. Monster Machine checked off Aston Zeppo on the third turn. Call Me Matt and Mr. Pendles collided approaching the home turn. Beaumont and Maggie's Alone collided approaching the winning post. Beaumont eased on the finish line.
Beaumont was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr W. McMahon, the trainer of the greyhound Beaumont regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the finish line. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Beaumont with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr McMahon pleaded guilty to the charge, Beaumont was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
