Mr Richard Rutland, trainer of Smashing Evie, declared a new weight of 28.9kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2) Smashing Evie last raced at 27.2kg.
A pre-race sample was taken from Ripple Eff Ex.
Smashing Evie was quick to begin. Call Me Waylan was slow to begin.
Home Runner and Ripple Eff Ex collided soon after the start, checking Home Runner. Smashing Evie checked off Ripple Eff Ex on the first turn. Dyna Mimi, Smashing Evie and Time Taker collided on the home turn. Ripple Eff Ex raced wide on the home turn and collided with Call Me Waylan. Ripple Eff Ex and Call Me Waylan collided several times in the home straight. Ripple Eff Ex eased approaching the winning post.
Ripple Eff Ex was vetted following the event. Stewards spoke to Mr H Clarke, the handler of the greyhound Ripple Eff Ex regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Ripple Eff Ex was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right wrist ,a seven-day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Ripple Eff Ex with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Clarke pleaded guilty to the charge, Ripple Eff Ex was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
