Oriental Lord and Key Largo Prince collided soon after the start checking Key Largo Prince. Spoil The Party, Oriental Lord, Sootette and Dodgy Dealer collided soon after the start checking Oriental Lord and Sootette. Spoil The Party galloped on the heels of Dodgy Dealer approaching the first turn checking See Him Go. See Him Go, Belena Lad and Oriental Lord collided approaching the home turn severely checking Belena Lad which stumbled as a result.
Stewards noted that the muzzle of Spoil The Party became dislodged during the running of the event.

Dutch Schultz trialled over the 450 metre distance from box 1, weight 32.1kg. The greyhound was placed 3rd, in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 26.07. The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 1.25L. Dutch Schultz was cleared.
Stewards spoke to Mr R. Tartaglia, the trainer of Thundering Star regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Thundering Star last raced on 15 June 2015. Mr Tartaglia stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after being on season. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Thundering Star trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 1, weight 27.6kg. The greyhound was placed 1st, in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.42. The greyhound was won by a margin of 3.5L. Thundering Star was cleared.
