Cosmic Saga and Camelot Lodge were slow to begin. Howth brushed the rail approaching the first turn. Howth contacted the running rail, checking Cosmic Saga and Camelot Lodge. Lektra Damage checked off Charlie's Lady on the first turn. Lektra Damage and Quick Return collided several times approaching the home turn. Quick Return checked off Howth on the home turn. Cosmic Saga, Lektra Damage, Quick Return and Helena Allen collided entering the home straight, checking all four greyhounds. Howth checked off Mad Magpie in the home straight, checking Cosmic Saga, Quick Return and severely checking Howth which fell as a result.
