Mercy Me was quick to begin. Bin Bon Bay and Just In Hodges collided soon after the start. Paddy Macs, Outlaw Clyde and Boris Winslow collided approaching the first turn. Outlaw Clyde galloped on the heels of Paddy Macs on the first turn. Boris Winslow and Outlaw Clyde collided on the first turn checking Boris Winslow. Bin Bon Bay and My Dolly Molly collided on the first turn checking My Dolly Molly and severely checking Winx which stumbled as a result. Boris Winslow and Mercy Me collided several times approaching the home turn.
Winx was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left shoulder. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
