Gunmetal Outlaw and Flamethrower were quick to begin.  Parie Shiraz was slow to begin.  Alby's Shadow was very slow to begin (4 lengths).  Parie Shiraz and Destini Soprano collided soon after the start checking Parie Shiraz.  Djays Larry crossed to the outside approaching the first turn.  Djays Larry checked off Gunmetal Outlaw approaching the first turn.  Parie Shiraz and Shot To Glory collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Djays Larry raced wide on the home turn.  Shot To Glory raced wide in the home straight.

Bodacious and Cas were quick to begin.  Destini Doll was slow to begin.  Cheryl's Boy went up with the lids at box rise and was very slow to begin (4 lengths). Tally Ho Dejay and Nav's Boy collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn checking Destini Doll and severely checking Tally Ho Dejay.  Regal Hussler and Cas collided on the first turn and again approaching the home turn checking Cas.  Nav's Boy and Destini Doll collided on the home turn and again entering the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr. N Lenehan, the trainer of Ok Ollie regarding the greyhounds improved performance. Mr. Lenehan stated that the greyhound has had a season since her last start and that she has been trialling well. Stewards noted Mr. Lenehan's explanation and directed that a sample be taken. 

Jayded Mia and Ariki Whero were slow to begin.  Tally Ho Jack went up with the lids at box rise and was very slow to begin (3 lengths).  Ariki Whero crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Tally Ho Jack.  Jayded Mia checked off King Billy Bolt approaching the first turn.  Jayded Mia and King Billy Bolt collided on the first turn checking Jayded Mia.  Ariki Whero checked off King Billy Bolt on the first turn checking Jayded Mia.

Stewards spoke to Mr. L Lenehan, the trainer of Golden Fang regarding the greyhounds improved performance. Mr. Lenehan stated that the greyhound has been finding trouble in its previous starts and today he began well and obtained an interferance free run. Stewards noted Mr. Lenehan's explanation and directed that a sample be taken. 

Looking Back was quick to begin.  Penny Pitstop was slow to begin.  Catsford Allan and Destini Tenor collided soon after the start.  My Names Rhonda checked off Looking Back approaching the first turn.  My Names Rhonda, Catsford Allan, Cheeky Ellyse, Juggie Superfish and Looking Back collided on the first turn checking My Names Rhonda, Juggie Superfish and Destini Tenor and severely checking Cheeky Ellyse.  My Names Rhonda and Penny Pitstop collided approaching the home turn checking Juggie Superfish.  Destini Tenor checked off Looking Back on the home turn.  Looking Back and My Names Rhonda collided several times in the home straight.

Solar Rapid trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 1, weight 32.2kgs.  The greyhound was placed 3rd, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 22.30. The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 7.25 lengths.  Solar Rapid was cleared.
