Steward's Report
Ma Ma Marty and Division Four was slow to begin. Laytown and Rusty Patches collided on the first turn, checking Laytown. Orchard Road veered out and marred the running of Dom Daisy on the home turn, causing both greyhounds to race wide. Dom Daisy and Orhcard Road collided entering the home straight and again in the home straight. Ma Ma Marty raced wide entering the home straight. Laytown and Rusty Patches raced wide in the home straight.
Orchard Road was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the back left leg. No stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr R. Gore, the trainer of the greyhound Orchard Road regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Orchard Road with marring. Mr. Gore pleaded guilty to the charge, Orchard Road was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warrnambool and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
