Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Ms.L..Repici after the greyhound Reatily Shintaro was placed in the incorrect kennel during the kenneling process. Ms. Repici was issued with a warning and reminded when kenneling she ensures greyhounds are kennelled in accordance with kennel procedure.
Stewards spoke to kennel attendant, Mr C.Archibald after the greyhound Reatily Shintaro was placed in the incorrect kennel during the kenneling process. Mr Archibald was given a warning and asked to ensure that all greyhounds are correctly kennelled in future. This matter was referred to the Club Manager for further consideration.
Smiley Girl was quick to begin. Hurunui Jack were slow to begin. Spring Velox and Stevie O'Muffin collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn. Smiley Girl checked off Reatily Shintaro on the first turn and collided with Spring Velox. Hurunui Jack and Destini Baby collided on the first turn, checking both greyhounds. Stevie O'Muffin, Destini Baby and Hurunui Jack collided entering the back straight, checking Stevie O'Muffin. Stevie O'Muffin checked off Destini Baby on the third turn. Destini Baby eased approaching the home turn and collided with Hurunui Jack.
Stewards spoke to Mr. Martin Taylor, the representative of the greyhound Destini Baby regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn. Destini Baby was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right quadriceps, a five day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Destini Baby with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Taylor pleaded guilty to the charge, Destini Baby was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stevie O'Muffin was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right monkey muscle and right wrist, a ten day stand down period was imposed.
