Amaroo Lexus was quick to begin.  Starlit Dragon was slow to begin.  Terrace and Boydy collided soon after the start checking Boydy.  Pepper Shannon galloped on Any Other Union on the first turn severely checking Pepper Shannon and checking Any Other Union.  She's A Beaut and Starlit Dragon collided on the first turn.  Any Other Union was checked off Doused In Mud approaching the second turn.  Boydy was checked off Any Other Union on the second turn.  Pepper Shannon was checked off Boydy on the second turn causing She's A Beaut to check off Pepper Shannon, She's A Beaut raced wide as a result.

A pre-race sample was taken from Galloping Kriste.

Showin' Attitude was quick to begin.  Lady Scrumptious and Shakey Sally were slow to begin.  Galloping Kriste and Sunset Kay collided soon after the start.  Fine Edge crossed to the rail on the first turn causing Galloping Kriste to check off Fine Edge checking Sunset Kay.  Lady Scrumptios galloped on Galloping Kriste in the back straight checking both greyhounds.  Lady Scrumptious was checked off Sunset Kay entering the home straight.  Shakey Sally and Sunset Kay collided approaching the winning post.

Storm Train was a late scratching at 9.03am due to illness.  A 10 Day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

A pre-race sample was taken from Crickets Dash.

Crickets Dash was quick to begin.  Retention, In Peril and Paints A Story were slow to begin.  Foxzami Tyga crossed in soon after the start checking Retention and In Peril.  Zelemar Cocoa and Bonta Magic collided soon after the start.  Retention and In Peril collided approaching the first turn.  Retention was checked off In Peril approaching the home turn.

Stewards spoke to Mr. L. Whelan the representative of Lakeview Lyn regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Lakeview Lyn last raced on 10/07/16.  Mr. Whelan stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a sesamoid injury.

Pursuant to GAR 104(6) Kennel Attendant Mrs. E. Delios did not act in any offical capacity for this event.

A pre-race sample was taken from Penny Worth.  

Lakeview Lyn was quick to begin.  Daffy Duck and Chucky Thump were slow to begin.  Early Spring and Meeniyan Hawk collided soon after the start.  Early Spring, Meeniyan Hawk and Penny Worth collided on the first turn checking Meeniyan Hawk.  Ends Well was checked off Lakeview Lyn on the first turn and again in the back straight.  Jurassic Saphire and Chucky Thump collided approaching the second turn.  Chucky Thump was checked off Penny Worth on the second turn.  Chucky Thump and Penny Worth collided entering the home straight.

A pre-race sample was taken from Duna Runa.

Magic Diamond and Master Mordecai were slow to begin.  Bird Special and Galloping Fantom collided approaching the first turn checking Bird Special.  Master Mordecai, Galloping Fantom and Duna Runa collided on the first turn checking Magic Diamond, Duna Runa, Bird Special and Galloping Fantom.

Master Mordecai was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

A pre-race sample was taken from Cement Socks.

Aston Troy was slow to begin.  Guillermo and Locomotion collided soon after the start.  Locomotion and Hollywood Jones collided on the first turn checking Hollywood Jones which raced wide as a result.  Locomotion and Cement Socks collided approaching the second turn checking Cement Socks causing Cement Socks to collide with Hollywood Jones.  Kirabilli Myrtle and Mizuki collided in the home straight.

A pre-race sample was taken from Far Out Indian.

Grand Cayman, Machiko, El Surrao and Maximum Bella were quick to begin.  Charm Again and Emily As collided soon after the start.  Grand Cayman and Machiko collided several times from soon after the start to approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Grand Cayman was checked off Machiko approaching the first turn causing Grand Cayman to collide with Oakmont Whisper and Emily As.  Grand Cayman and Oakmont Whisper  collided on the first turn.  El Surrao faltered in the back straight.

El Surrao was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained and injured right monkey muscle, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Dr. Compulsion.

Gilberto, Dr. Compulsion and Dr. Sherlock collided soon after the start.  Lakeview Harley was checked off River Crossing soon after the start.  Heard It Before and River Crossing collided on the first turn.

Stewards noted that the muzzle of Dr. Compulsion became wedged in the greyhounds teeth  during the running of the event.

Aston Emilio was a late scratching at 2.54pm by Order of Stewards after trainer Mr. E. Lieshout presented the incorrect greyhound at kennelling GAR 31(1). Trainer Mr. E. Lieshout was fined the sum of $250.

A pre-race sample was taken from Dr. Kestrel.

Dr. Kestrel, Claude Van Keats and Ninetymile Holly were quick to begin.  Dr. Oliver was slow to begin.  Claude Van Keats and Ninetymile Holly collided soon after the start.  Dr. Oliver and Akina Dee Jay collided on the first turn checking Akina Dee Jay, Akina Dee Jay and Order In Line collided as a result checking both greyhounds.  Akina Dee Jay was checked off Order In Line approaching the home turn causing Akina Dee Jay to stumble checking Akina Dee Jay and severely checking Order In Line.  Ninetymile Holly and Jake collided entering the home straight checking Ninetymile Holly.

A pre-race sample was taken from Tree Climber Liv.

Mystic Quality was quick to begin.  Peragon Falcon and Samsara Lass were slow to begin.  Tree Climber Liv and Amlin Mystique collided in the back straight checking Tree Climber Liv and severely checking Amlin Mystique, Milla Rose was checked off Amlin Mystique as a result.  Peragon Falcon was checked off Milla Rose on the second turn.  Tree Climber Liv and Dr. Gammiris collided on the home turn.

Stewards spoke to Mrs. P. Terry the trainer of the greyhound Amlin Mystique and reminded her of her responsibilities regarding ensuring she closes the back of the starting box by using the handle at the bottom.

My Arizona Room was quick to begin.  Cool Boots, Crackerjack Andy, Dr. Yanma and Lakeview Miss collided on the first turn checking Crackerjack Andy, Lakeview Miss and Dr. Yanma.  Lakeview Miss was checked of Dr. Yanma in the back straight.  My Arizona Room raced wide from the second turn to the home turn.  Cool Boots and Elswyk Max collided on the home turn.

Barroom Express was slow to begin.  Nero Rose, Aston Lydia and Nitroniun collided approaching the first turn checking Aston Lydia, Nero Rose and Mint Boy.  Nero Rose and Aston Lydia collided on the first turn checking Nero Rose and Barroom Express.  Silver Salute, Phil's In Luck and Extra Cuddles collided entering the back straight checking Phil's In Luck and Nitroniun.  Nero Rose was checked off Aston Lydia entering the back straight severely checking Nero Rose and Barroom Express.  Phil's In Luck was checked off Nitroniun in the back straight.  Aston Lydia, Extra Cuddles and Nitroniun collided on the second turn checking Aston Lydia and Nitroniun.  Aston Lydia and Phil's In Luck collided approaching the home turn.

Satisfactory trial results:-

Sultan's Pride trialled over 315 metres from box 5, weight 30.7kg, the greyhound was placed fourth in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 19.33 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 4.25 lengths.  Sultan's Pride was not cleared.

Loyal Miss trialled over 315 metres from box 1, weight 27.9kg, the greyhound was placed second in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 19.33 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of .25 length.  Loyal Miss was not cleared.

Hurricane Patch trialled over 315 metres from box 3, weight 27.8kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 19.33 sec, the greyhound won by a margin of .25 length.  Hurricane Patch was not cleared.

Hurricane Josie trialled over 315 metres from box 8, weight 25.8kg, the greyhound was placed third in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 19.33 secs, the greyhound was beaten  by a margin of 2.25 lengths.  Hurricane Josie was not cleared.
