Stewards spoke to Mr. R.Camilleri the trainer of Next To Go regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Next To Go last raced on 12th August, 2015 and is returning to racing after being spelled with the owner. 

Black Sheep was a late scratching at 2:32pm due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24). A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre race sample was taken from Next To Go.

Kolora Tess was quick to begin. Shake 'Em Up was slow to begin. Coli's Girl and Mighty Duck collided approaching the first turn, checking Coli's Girl. Senni Socks and Next To Go collided on the first turn, checking Senni Socks. Coli's Girl crossed to the outside and collided with Jack Snapper on the home turn, checking Jack Snapper and severely checking Coli's Girl. Coli's Girl and Jack Snapper collided in the home straight. 

Stewards spoke to Mr G.Daaboul, the handler of Senni Socks regarding his failure to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve the greyhound for racing. Stewards charged Mr Daaboul with a breach of GAR 46(2) in that he failed to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve the greyhound Senni Socks. Mr Daaboul pleaded guilty to the charge. Mr Daaboul was found guilty and fined $50.

A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Sexy Teena a post race sample was subsequently taken.

Gwen's Pick, Lady Camelot and Rippin Moi Moi were slow to begin. Bekim Power and My Dolly Molly collided soon after the start, checking My Dolly Molly. Sexy Teena galloped on the heels of Elle's Diva approaching the first turn. Lady Camelot checked off Sexy Teena approaching the first turn. Gwen's Pick and Sexy Teena collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn. Lady Camelot galloped on the heels of Suplex City on the first turn, checking both greyhounds. My Dolly Molly raced wide in the home straight. 

Blake Shillington was fined the sum of $50 for failing to ensure the registration papers were produced for the greyhound Gwen's Pick pursuant to GAR 33.

Major Dollar and Devils Reject collided soon after the start. Sub Zero Magic galloped on the heels of Major Dollar approaching the first turn, checking both greyhounds. Crackerjack Cam and Devils Reject collided on the first turn, checking Crackerjack Cam and severely checking Devils Reject. Sub Zero Magic checked off Major Dollar on the first turn. Major Dollar raced wide approaching the home turn, checking Sub Zero Magic which raced wide as a result. Super Veloce raced wide approaching the home turn. 

Super Veloce was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to both wrists, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Wilma's Thunder and no illness was detected. The greyhound was a late scratching at 1:55pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr W.Punshon  was fined the sum of $100.

Acting in accordance with GAR 56, Stewards declared this Event a "No Race" after determining that the greyhound Hot Pedro had been interfered with approaching the home turn by a foreign object. Stewards were of the opinion that subsequent interference affected other placings. 

Hot Pedro was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right triangle injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. 

Claretown Tex and Dig Deep Bert were slow to begin. Kalimna Sprite checked off Babs Bale on the first turn. Sheoak Marnie checked off Babs Bale on the first turn, checking Dig Deep Bert. Cruisy Limelight and Volta Allen collided on the first turn, checking Cruisy Limelight. Sheoak Marnie checked off Kalimna Sprite approaching the home turn. Cruisy Limelight and Dig Deep Bert collided approaching the home turn, checking Dig Deep Bert and severely checking Cruisy Limelight. 

Cruisy Limelight was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right monkey muscle injury, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Sheoak Marnie was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. 

A sample was taken from Volta Allen - winner of the event. 

Stewards spoke to handler, Mr J.Formosa after the greyhound Neliel Bale was placed in the incorrect kennel during the kenneling process. Mr Formosa was issued with a warning and reminded when kenneling he ensures greyhounds are kennelled in accordance with kennel procedure. 

Stewards spoke to kennel attendant, Mr D.Maye after the greyhound Neliel Bale was placed in the incorrect kennel during the kenneling process. Mr Maye was issued with a severe reprimand and asked to ensure that all greyhounds are correctly kenneled in future. This matter was referred to the Club Manager for further consideration. 

Bendis Beale was a late scratching at 2:35pm by Order Of Stewards.

Stewards conducted an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the late scratching of the greyhound Bendis Bale after it was established that Mr J.Sayle, trainer had presented the incorrect greyhound for racing. Stewards charged Mr Sayle with a breach of 86(o). Mr Sayle pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined the sum of $100. 

Chappy, Starzar Diamonds, Flaming Bob and Cosmic Shez were slow to begin. Starzar Diamonds contacted the running rail on the first turn. Starzar Diamonds and Dyna Drama collided on the home turn. Flaming Bob raced wide entering the home straight. Dyna Drama checked off Starzar Diamonds in the home straight. 

Starzar Diamonds was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to the left metatarsals. No stand down period was imposed. 

Uno Whirl was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right monkey muscle, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. 

Four Elements and Ivy Lane collided approaching the first turn. Sisco Legend and Hot And Lonesome collided approaching the first turn, checking Sisco Legend. Four Elements and Ivy Lane collided on the first turn, checking Four Elements and Sisco Legend. Irish Connection, Hot And Lonesome, Lord Diamond and Suave Odessa collided on the first turn, checking Lord Diamond and Suave Odessa. Lord Diamond raced wide in the home straight. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. G Kantzidis, the trainer of Hot And Lonesome regarding the greyhound improved performance. Mr. Kantzidis stated that the greyhound jumped well and obtained a good run throughout. He also advised that the greyhound had been receiving interference of late. Stewards noted Mr. Kantzidis's explanation and directed that a sample be taken.  

Makaman, Quaint Bale and Hez Got Nitro collided soon after the start, checking Quaint Bale. Leopold Bale and Zonda Bale collided approaching the first turn, checking Rumablina and Leopold Bale. Hez Got Nitro checked off Kifinti on the home turn. 

A sample was taken from Hez Got Nitro - second placegetter in the event. 

Blossom Noir was a late scratching at 1:57pm due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24). A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Gunmetal Warrior and Magic Gold collided soon after the start, checking Gunmetal Warrior. Frozen Nitro and Major Burst collided approaching the first turn. Major Burst and Gunmetal Warrior collided approaching the home turn. Gunmetal Warrior galloped on the heels of Major Burst approaching the home turn, checking Major Burst. Magic Gold checked off Fiery Nell in the home straight. 

Stewards spoke to Mrs. H Gates, representative of the greyhound Katie Riot regarding the improved performance in this Event. Mrs. Gates stated that the greyhound had recently changed kennels and was found to be injured after its last start. The greyhound was given a short spell before trialling well recently at Geelong. Stewards noted Mr Gate's explanation and directed that a sample be taken.

Stewards spoke to trainer Mr G.Brett regarding the direction that the greyhound Fiery Nell be boxed first. Acting under GAR 52(2) Stewards directed that this box first be removed.

Southwood Lloyd was quick to begin. Don Fire was very slow to begin (3 lengths). So Lonely, Crackerjack Hano and Corgi Cry collided on the first turn, checking So Lonely. Don Fire raced wide in the home straight. 

Ms S Thomas, trainer of Cosmic Explorer declared a new weight of 30.7kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Cosmic Explorer last raced at 29.4kgs. 

Cosmic Explorer and Kraken Concord were slow to begin. Gray's Hand, Cosmic Explorer and Cruisen Billy collided approaching the first turn, checking Cruisen Billy. Scunitza Speed galloped on the heels of High Mission on the first turn, checking High Mission and severely checking Scunitza Speed. Gray's Hand and Cosmic Explorer collided on the first turn. Kraken Concord checked off Going Cosmic on the first turn, checking Cosmic Explorer and severely checking Cruisen Billy. Gray's Hand and Kraken Concord collided approaching the home turn. Cruisen Billy raced wide entering the home straight. 

Mr. B Jacobs, trainer of Lynlaw Dave declared a new weight of 33.6kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Lynlaw Dave last raced at 35.1kgs.

Lynlaw Dave was slow to begin. Fancy Assassin and Pingu collided soon after the start, checking Fancy Assassin. Elite Circle, Pingu and Electro Bale collided approaching the first turn, checking Pingu and Fancy Assassin. Elite Circle checked off Exit Zero on the first turn, checking Electro Bale, Lynlaw Dave and Fancy Assassin. Pulciano and Electro Bale collided approaching the home turn, checking Pulciano. Broden Rain raced wide entering the home straight. Lynlaw Dave and Broden Rain raced wide in the home straight.

Satisfactory Trial Results (Blinkers) - Zipping Phoebe trialled over the 460m, from box 1, weight 27.4kg, the greyhound was placed 4th in a field of four starters. The time of the trial was 26.13, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 6.75 lengths. Zipping Phoebe was cleared to race in blinkers. 

Satisfactory Trial Results - Bookbinder trialled over the 460m, from box 5, weight 36.0kg, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of four starters. The time of the trial was 26.13, the greyhound won by a margin of 4 lengths. Bookbinder was cleared.
