A pre-race sample was taken from Ann's Moment.
Maximum Owie was slow to begin. Kiwi Collision and Let's Run collided soon after the start. Gunmetal Diva and Push The Trolley collided soon after the start. Let's Run, Kiwi Collision and Push The Trolley collided approaching the first turn checking Push The Trolley and Gunmetal Diva. Let's Run checked off Ann's Moment on the first turn. Push The Trolley and Maximum Owie collided approaching the home turn. Push The Trolley eased in the home straight and collided several times with Gunmetal Diva.
Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Matthyssen, the representative of the greyhound Push The Trolley regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Push The Trolley was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 11, it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left wrist. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged Push The Trolley with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Matthyssen pleaded guilty to the charge. Push The Trolley was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
