Steward's Report
Riverdale Cocky was a late scratching at 7:36am due to illness (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
A pre-race sample was taken from Major Blast.
Quick Paws Bolac stumbled soon after the start and was very slow to begin (4 lengths). Star Shower and Major Blast collided soon after the start checking Major Blast. Belena Surf, Star Shower and Secret Number collided approaching the first turn checking Crumps Lil Angel and Secret Number and severely checking Star Shower and Major Blast; Star Shower and Major Blast fell as a result.
Star Shower was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left pencil muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Major Blast was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right monkey muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Quick Paws Bolac was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Destini Colorado trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 8, weight 34.7kgs. The greyhound was placed 1st, in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.59. The greyhound won by a margin of 4 lengths. Destini Colorado was cleared.
Stewards spoke to Mr. T. Noy, the trainer of Acola Magic regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Acola Magic last raced on 14th January, 2016. Mr. Noy stated that the greyhound was resuming racing after a dropped back muscle injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Acola Magic trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 5, weight 31.2kgs. The greyhound was placed 4th, in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.59. The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 8 lengths. Acola Magic was cleared.
