Shieka and Benny Boy Magic were slow to begin.  Avatar Xena, Platinum Power and Full Of Charm collided approaching the first turn checking Platinum Power.  Rapana checked off Chabay Laray approaching the first turn.  Rapana checked off Full Of Charm on the first turn.  Platinum Power galloped on the heels of Rapana approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.

Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Lowe the trainer of Woorndoo Lass regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Woorndoo Lass last raced on 14th July, 2016.   Mr. Lowe stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after beein on season.

Mr. M. Lowe was also fined the sum of $50 for failing to ensure the registration card was produced for the greyhound Woorndoo Lass pursuant to GAR 33.

Just A Peanut was slow to begin.  Awesome Freckles and Go Close collided soon after the start.  Golden Delish and Steppin' Out collided approaching the first turn.  Golden Delish and Go Close collided on the first turn checking Golden Delish and Woorndoo Lass; Woorndoo Lass raced wide as a result.  Cosmic Fortune raced wide on the home turn.

Allen Robbie, Coringel Ebony and Brady Bones were slow to begin.  Keno Bale, Loceryl and Milly's Choice collided on the first turn checking Keno Bale and Loceryl.  Coringel Ebony and Destini Ricardo collided approaching the home turn.  Destini Ricardo eased on the home turn and again entering the home straight and collided with Coringel Ebony as a result.

Stewards spoke to Mrs. J. Rinaldi, the representative of the greyhound Destini Ricardo regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn and entering the home straight.  Destini Ricardo was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 10, it was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its left thigh and right deltoid muscle.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Destini Ricardo with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mrs. Rinaldi pleaded guilty to the charge.  Destini Ricardo was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Quick Paws Bolac stumbled soon after the start and was very slow to begin (4 lengths).  Star Shower and Major Blast collided soon after the start checking Major Blast.  Belena Surf, Star Shower and Secret Number collided approaching the first turn checking Crumps Lil Angel and Secret Number and severely checking Star Shower and Major Blast; Star Shower and Major Blast fell as a result.  

Star Shower was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left pencil muscle.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Major Blast was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right monkey muscle.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Quick Paws Bolac was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Satisfactory Trial Results

Destini Colorado trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 8, weight 34.7kgs.  The greyhound was placed 1st, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 22.59.  The greyhound won by a margin of 4 lengths.  Destini Colorado was cleared. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. T. Noy, the trainer of Acola Magic regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Acola Magic last raced on 14th January, 2016.  Mr. Noy stated that the greyhound was resuming racing after a dropped back muscle injury.  Pursuant to GAR 77A,  Acola Magic trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 5, weight 31.2kgs.  The greyhound was placed 4th, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 22.59.  The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 8 lengths.  Acola Magic was cleared.
