Stewards spoke to Ms. V. Sultana, the trainer of Special Mate regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Special Mate last raced on 19th of September, 2016.  Ms. Sultana reported the greyhound was returning to race after being unable to gain a start previously.

Special Mate was slow to begin.  Adala Son, Jamari Belle, Lucinda and Thank Me Later collided soon after the start checking Jamari Belle.  Adala Son and Lucinda collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn checking Adala Son.  Special Mate raced wide on the first turn and approaching the home turn causing the greyhound to lose ground and tail off as a result.  Crickets Dash and Cyclone Jebrynah collided on the home turn, several times in the home straight and again approaching the winning post.

Special Mate was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Ms. V. Shoot The Moon was a late scratching at 11:20am due to weight variation (GAR 39).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer, Mr. R. Stephens was fined the sum of $100.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Small Rose and no illness was detected.  The greyhound was a late scratching at 11:00am due to weight variation (GAR 39).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer, Ms. K. Smyth was fined the sum of $100.

Master Rico was slow to begin.  Economics and Effectual collided soon after the start.  Master Rico checked off Economics approaching the first turn and again entering the home straight.  Ellen's Stardust and Molly Bling collided in the home straight.

In Peril and Paddy's Cripp were slow to begin.  Vanilla Kiss crossed to the outside soon after the start checking Delta's Magic and Eagleeye Norris.  Eagleeye Norris checked off Vanilla Kiss approaching the first turn checking Outta Ammo, Ninetymile Lucky and In Peril.  Delta's Magic and Paddy's Cripp collided on the first turn.  Paddy's Cripp, Eagleeye Norris, Ninetymile Lucky and In Peril collided on the first turn checking Eagleeye Norris, Ninetymile Lucky and In Peril. Eagleeye Norris checked off Ninetymile Lucky approaching the home turn checking In Peril.

This event was delayed due to a malfunction with the lure cable.  All greyhounds had been boxed but were returned to the kennel area prior to the restart of the event at 1:20pm.

Kadalex Kid was a late scratching at 1:10pm with Stewards permission due to the delay in the race start and the hot conditions.  A pre-race sample was taken from Kadalex Kid.

Pure Cascade and White With One were quick to begin.  Sunset Kay and Tail Inspector were slow to begin.  Sunset Kay contacted the running rail on the first turn checking Sixty Three and severely checking Sunset Kay and Tail Inspector.  Doused In Mud and Pure Cascade collided entering the home straight.

Crystal Shadow and Laurentide Ice were quick to begin.  Goodbye Gary was slow to begin.  Tiana, Madam Russo, Blocka Boy and Inventive collided soon after the start checking Blocka Boy.  Caro's Arrow, Tiana, Madam Russo and Inventive collided approaching the first turn checking Caro's Arrow and Tiana. Goodbye Gary and Inventive collided on the first turn checking Goodbye Gary and Blocka Boy.  Caro's Arrow and Madam Russo collided several times approaching the home turn and on the home turn.  Blocka Boy and Inventive collided entering the home straight.

Mr. T. Churchill, the handler of Call Me Matt declared a new weightof 30.9kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 32(2).  Call Me Matt last raced at 29.6kgs.

Magenta Gold was slow to begin.  Vane Power, Call Me Matt and Isabella Girl collided soon after the start.  Pink Floyd clipped the heels of Vegas Dealer on the first turn.  Pink Floyd and She's Our Poppy collided approaching the home turn checking Pink Floyd.  Call Me Matt and Magenta Gold collided approaching the home turn.  Isabella Girl and Vegas Dealer collided entering the home straight.

Mr. T. Whitford, handler of Parie Shiraz declared a new weightof 35.5kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 32(2).  Parie Shiraz last raced at 34.4kgs.

Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Dedes, the trainer of Dealer's Call regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Dealer's Call last raced on 30th of August, 2016.  Mr. Dedes stated that the greyhound was returning to race after having its testicles removed.

Scarlet Evader was slow to begin.  Rorter and Dealer's Call collided soon after the start.  Princess Shae crossed to the inside soon after the start checking Rorter, Phoebe Allen and Princess Shae.  Nitric Acid, Dealer's Call and Scarlet Evader collided on the first turn checking Dealer's Call and Phoebe Allen. Dealer's Call and Phoebe Allen collided approaching the home turn.  Stephie Keats checked off Scarlet Evader in the home straight.

Hurricane Ben was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr. T. Whitford, the trainer of Frothy Flyer regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Frothy Flyer last raced on 19th of September, 2016.  Mr. Whitford stated that the greyhound was returning to race after a front left toe injury.

This event was rescheduled to start at 3:24pm.

Frothy Flyer was vetted prior to the event and passed fit to race.

Amaroo Lexus and Holler At Me were quick to begin.  Razldazl Jackie and Frothy Flyer were slow to begin.  Celtic Charm checked off Holler At Me on the first turn.  Razldazl Jackie checked off Amaroo Lexus approaching the home turn.  Slick Maggie and Celtic Charm collided several times from approaching the home turn to entering the home straight.  Barra Johnson and Celtic Charm collided in the home straight.

Frothy Flyer was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Midnight Minx was quick to begin.  Perfect Hours and Ninnie Allen were slow to begin.  Need A Zac and Amaroo Loco collided soon after the start.  Ninnie Allen, Petite Fleur and Perfect Hours collided on the first turn severely checking Petite Fleur which raced wide as a result.  Day Walker checked off Amaroo Loco entering the home straight causing Day Walker to race wide.

Petite Fleur was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left monkey muscle.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Weather Allen was a late scratching at 11:10am due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24).  A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Satisfactory Trial Results

Stewards spoke to Ms. D. Mowat, the trainer of Moreira regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Moreira last raced on 12th May 2016. Ms. Mowat stated that the greyhound was returning to race after injury.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Moreira trialled over the 460 metre distance from box 1, weight 31.2kgs.  The greyhound was placed 1st, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 26.06.  The greyhound won by a margin of 5.25 lengths.  Moreira was cleared.

Nitrology trialled over the 460 metre distance from box 3, weight 33.4kgs.  The greyhound was placed 3rd, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 26.06. The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 7.5 lengths.  Nitrology was cleared.

Share trialled over the 460 metre distance from box 8, weight 30.2kgs.  The greyhound was placed 2nd, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 26.06.  The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 5.25 lengths.  Share was cleared.
