A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Jess Delight; a post-race sample was subsequently taken.
Daintree Teacake and Howth were slow to begin. Steinbeck Knew and Tempus Fugit collided soon after the start. Jess Delight, Barnie's Blaster and Heartbreak Love collided approaching the first turn, checking Jess Delight and Barnie's Blaster. Diyas and Barnie's Blaster collided on the first turn, checking Diyas, Barnie's Blaster, Heartbreak Love and Howth. Steinbeck Knew checked off Daintree Teacake on the first turn.
Meeting Coments:
Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Simon Humphries, the trainer of Fiery Chieftain regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Fiery Chieftain last raced on 14th March 2016. Simon Humphreys stated that the greyhound had not raced in this period due to stopper bone tendon injuries. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Fiery Chieftain trialled over the 390m from box 1, weight 30.5kg, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.38, the greyhound beaten by a margin of 1.5L. Fiery Chieftain was cleared.
