Was A Banker was a late scratching at 1:42pm by order of Stewards.

Kentucky Sun checked off Harry's Hunni soon after the start. Daintree Dynamo, Tribe and Flashing Lights collided approaching the first turn checking Daintree Dynamo and Tribe. Kentucky Sun galloped on the heels of Tribe approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds. One Moore Page checked off Daintree Dynamo approaching the first turn. Tribe and Kentucky Sun collided on the first turn. One Moore Page, Tribe and Kentucky Sun collided approaching the home turn. Winlock Macy and Daintree Dynamo collided on the home turn. Harry's Hunni raced wide entering the home straight. Kentucky Sun and One Moore Page collided in the home straight. Daintree Dynamo raced wide in the home straight. Winlock Macy and Kentucky Sun collided approaching the winning post.

Harry's Hunni was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to toes on both hind feet. A stand down period of 7 days was imposed.

A sample was taken from Flashing Lights, winner of the event.

Stewards spoke to Mr. C Van Lieshout, the trainer of Was A Banker after he failed to present the correct greyhound for its engagement in this event. After hearing evidence from Mr. Van Lieshout stewards charged him with a breach of GAR31(1). Mr. Van Lieshout pleaded guilty to the charge. Mr. Van Lieshout was found gulity and fined the sum of $250.
