A pre race sample was taken from Big Papa.
All Inn Johnson was slow to begin. Big Papa and Speed Alert collided soon after the start. Bracken Bridge and Chrissy Pee collided soon after the start checking Bracken Bridge. Big Papa, Speed Alert and Chrissy Pee collided approaching the first turn. Fast Freddie, Rapid Rock and Misty Hawk collided approaching the first turn checking Rapid Rock and Misty Hawk. Big Papa, Speed Alert and Chrissy Pee collided on the first turn severely checking Speed Alert and All inn Johnson. Bracken Bridge fell as a result. Fast Freddie checked off Chrissy Pee approaching the home turn. Fast Freddie and Big Papa collided on the home turn. Fast Freddie, Chrissy Pee and Rapid Rock collided on the home turn and again in the home straight checking Chrissy Pee. Fast Freddie and Rapid Rock collided approaching the winning post.
Bracken Bridge was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right back muscle injury and a left pencil muscle injury. A stand down period of 10 days was imposed.
