Steward's Report

Mr. N. Burns, trainer of Bryden Peter declared a new weight of 33.7kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Bryden Peter last raced at 35.2kg.

Down Mexico Way was quick to begin. Midnight Marzy was very slow to begin (4L). Grey Grouse, Opalia Bale and Liberty Diamond collided soon after the start checking Grey Grouse. Boof's Banjo and Fiery Lomar collided on the first turn checking Grey Grouse, Liberty Diamond and Bryden Peter and severely checking Opalia Bale and Boof's Banjo. Boof's Banjo fell as a result. Midnight Marzy and Liberty Diamond collided approaching the home turn checking Liberty Diamond. Opalia Bale galloped on Grey Grouse approaching the home turn checking Grey Grouse. Grey Grouse checked off Liberty Diamond on the home turn checking Opalia Bale. Liberty Diamond and Bryden Peter collided entering the home straight checking Bryden Peter and Opalia Bale.

Boof's Banjo was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the right front leg and injury to the left triangle. A stand down period of 7 days was imposed.
