Steward's Report
A pre race sample was taken from It's A Dream.
Lala Shim was quick to begin. Brandeen Peaches and It's A Dream were slow to begin. Lala Shim and Yorgi Blues collided on the first turn. Erica McKenna, Flying Smooth and Joe Mama collided on the first turn, checking Joe Mama. Flying Smooth checked off It's A Dream in the back straight. Flying Smooth and It's A Dream collided on the third turn. Brandeen Peaches and Flying Smooth collided on the home turn.
Stewards spoke to Mr. T. Erenshaw, trainer of Flying Smooth when he exited the kennels to an unrestricted area after retrieving his greyhound prior to the event. Mr. Erenshaw stated that it was his first time attending the Ballarat track, consequently he was unfamiliar with the kennel arrangement and had inadvertently exited through the wrong door when attempting to empty his greyhound. Stewards noted his explanation and ordered a post-race sample to be taken from Flying Smooth.
