Black Odessa was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right monkey muscle and left calf, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Out On Parole, Angelic Hand and Early Violet collided approaching the first turn, checking Out On Parole and Early Violet. Early Violet raced wide in the back straight. Out On Parole galloped on the heels of Oh Lele Simon on the third turn, checking both greyhounds. Stewards spoke to Ms. J.Imlach, the trainer of Miata Gold regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Miata Gold last raced on 24th July, 2016. Ms Imlach stated that Miata Gold is returning to racing after being on season. Ms.Imlach also declared a new weight of 30.2kg's for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Miata Gold last raced at 28.9kg's.
