Steward's Report
Tellem Leah went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin. Mighty Scull was slow to begin.
Premier Malt and Ollie Bale collided approaching the first turn. Ollie Bale and Diane's Lass collided on the first turn severely checking Diane's Lass. Mighty Scull galloped on the heels of Premier Malt on the home turn. Tellem Leah raced wide in the home straight.
Nicky Bale collapsed in the catching pen following the event and was pronounced deceased by the club's veterinary surgeon. Stewards ordered a sample to be taken and a post mortem to be conducted.
Tellem Leah who trailed the field throughout and tailed off was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to both triceps and both pencil muscles. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer, Mr. M. Mcguire declined the option to have the greyhound revetted. Stewards deemed the performance of Tellem Leah unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Tellem Leah must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
