Steward's Report
Lucky Chic and Magpie Lily were quick to begin. Dynamic Heat, Jazzy New Year and Lunar Magic were slow to begin. Hendo Blue and Love The Grub collided soon after the start. Hendo Blue, Love The Grub and Cosmic Mercury collided soon after the start. Cosmic Mercury, Dynamic Heat and Jazzy New Year collided on the first turn checking all three greyhounds. Love The Grub and Magpie Lily collided approaching the home turn checking Love The Grub. Jazzy New Year raced wide on the home turn. Magpie Lily eased entering the home straight and collided with Lucky Chic, severely checking Lucky Chic.
Stewards spoke to Mr. W. McMahon, the representative of the greyhound Magpie Lily regarding the greyhound's racing manners entering the home straight. Magpie Lily was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right hind pencil muscle. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Magpie Lily with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. McMahon pleaded guilty to the charge. Magpie Lily was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
