Steward's Report
Mr. G. Barnsley, trainer of Bar No Blue declared a new weight of 31.7 kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Bar No Blue last raced at 32.8 kgs.
Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Barnsley, the trainer of Bar No Blue regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Bar No Blue last raced on 13th July, 2015. Mr. Barnsley stated that the greyhound is returning to racing after a short spell.
Zsa Zoom was a late scratching at 12.54 PM by Order Of Stewards. Stewards spoke to Mr. E. Lieshout, trainer of Zsa Zoom, regarding the incorrect greyhound being presented to race for this event. Acting under GAR 86(o), Stewards charged Mr. Lieshout with presenting the incorrect greyhound to race, which in the opinion of Stewards was negligent. Mr. Lieshout pleaded guilty to the charge. Mr. Lieshout was found guilty and fined the sum of $500. In assessing penalty, Stewards took into account a recent penalty imposed on Mr. Lieshout under similar circumstances.
Black Selandra and Dr. Mortisha were quick to begin. Bar No Blue was slow to begin. Black Selandra and Skye collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. In This Way and Fiesty Fairy collided on the first turn. Skye checked off In This Way approaching the home turn. Black Selandra raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight.
Skye was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
