Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Donaldson, the trainer of Maggi Bekim regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Maggi Bekim  last raced on 30th June 2016. Mr. Donaldson stated that the greyhound was returning from being on season.

Swift Joker went up with the lids at box rise and was very slow to begin, (4L). Maggi Bekim and Newcastle Ranger were slow to begin. Monkey Year and Miracle Gem collided approaching the first turn. Newcastle Ranger and Bambalam Tilly collided approaching the first turn. Hillbilly Spunk checked off Newcastle Ranger and collided with Bambalam Tilly on the first turn. Monkey Year and Miracle Gem collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Maggi Bekim and Swift Joker collided in the home straight.

Lemon Patchwork was a late scratching at 6:18pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr. G. Bromley was fined the sum of $100.

Bashir was quick to begin. Greysynd Ace was slow to begin. Buckle Up Axel and Pee Dee collided soon after the start. Don's Collision and Buckle Up Axel collided on the first turn. Ruby Cabang checked off Bashir on the second turn.

Buckle Up Axel was vetted follwoing the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left wrist injury. A stand down period of 14 days was imposed.

Baroness Jill and Mexican Rush were slow to begin. Outlaw Clyde and Power Sensation collided soon after the start checking Outlaw Clyde. Hey Alio Fozzio, Power Sensation and Groucho collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn checking Power Sensation and Groucho. Baroness Jill checked off Tat Minnie approaching the home turn. Mexican Rush and Tat Minnie collided entering the home straight. Baroness Jill and Groucho collided approaching the winning post.

Max Rocket was a late scratching at 10:22am by order of Stewards.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Oriental Lord was slow to begin. Yorgi Blues and Girder Fork collided soon after the start. Boloney Club, Yorgi Blues and Girder Fork collided approaching the first turn checking Boloney Club and Yorgi Blues. Oriental Lord and High Hopes collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds. Oriental Lord galloped on High Hopes on the first turn severely checking High Hopes, Oriental Lord, Boloney Club and Yorgi Blues. High Hopes and Yorgi Blues collided approaching the home turn severely checking High Hopes. Paragon Diamond raced wide in the home straight. 

High Hopes was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right toe injury. A stand down period of 3 days was imposed.

Fairway Drive was quick to begin. Scarlett Lad was slow to begin. All Noise, Stylish Billy and Highfield Bambo collided soon after the start checking Highfield Bambo and All Noise. All Noise and Highfield Bambo collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Push The Trolley and Stylish Billy collided on the first turn checking Stylish Billy. Scarlett Lad and Jack's Lass collided approaching the home turn checking Jack's Lass.

Loosey Jabna was slow to begin. Mr. Swan was very slow to begin (3L). Quick Collision and Dark Chance collided soon after the start checking Dark Chance which collided with Mudslinger. Loosey Jabna, Quick Collision, Mudslinger, Who's That Hook and Our Spirit collided on the first turn checking Loosey Jabna and Dark Chance and severely checking Mr. Swan and Mudslinger. Who's That Hook and Our Spirit collided several times approaching the home turn checking Who's That Hook and Loosey Jabna. Loosey Jabna raced wide on the home turn. Mr. C. Glen, trainer of Ruby's Faith declared a new weight of 28.0kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Ruby's Faith last raced at 26.5kg.

Mr. K. Ward, trainer of Don's Licker declared a new weight of 27.0kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Don's Licker last raced at 25.8kg.

Don's Shy Girl, Bagpipes Billy and Dragon's Den collide approaching the home turn severely checking Bagpipes Billy, Dragon's Den and Bibbi. Bibbi and Rosie Bronx collided on the home turn checking both greyhounds. Little Arandt checked off  Sticka Step entering the home straight. Dragon's Den and Bibbi collided several times in the home straight.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Janray Kaza Wish trialled over the 390mts from box 1, weight 26.6kg, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 23.01, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 1.5L. Janray Kaza Wish was Cleared. This greyhound was also cleared to race in blinkers.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Janray Big Red trialled over the 390mts from box 3, weight 24.2kg, the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 23.01, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 7.75L. Janray Big Red was Cleared. 

Satisfactory Trial Results - Dewana Be Sharp trialled over the 450mts from box 8, weight 27.7kg, the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 26.47, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 2L. Dewana Be Sharp was Cleared.
