Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Ms. D. Carr, the trainer of Ken's Thunderin' regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Kens Thunderin' last raced on 2nd August 2016. Ms. Carr stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following a change of kennel.
A pre-race sample was taken from Proven Joey.
Minnie Ha Ha crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Game Spirit, Darley Millions, Eaglehawk Beffa, Proven Joey and Simply Vivacious. Simply Vivacious, Eaglehawk Beffa and Minnie Ha Ha collided on the first turn checking Simply Vivacious and Minnie Ha Ha. Simply Vivacious and Minnie Ha Ha collided entering the back straight checking Simply Vivacious. Eaglehawk Beffa, Minnie Ha Ha and Charman collided in the back straight checking Minnie Ha Ha. Proven Joey and Minnie Ha Ha collided approaching the second turn. Eaglehawk Beffa and Charman collided on the second turn checking Eaglehawk Beffa and Minnie Ha Ha. Proven Joey checked off Eaglehawk Beffa approaching the home turn and again on the home turn. Darley Millions raced wide entering the home straight. Minnie Ha Ha and Charman collided entering the home straight. Minnie Ha Ha eased in the home straight and collided with Charman.
Stewards spoke to Mrs. L. Fisher, the representative of the greyhound Minnie Ha Ha regarding the greyhound's racing manners in home straight. Minnie Ha Ha was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left shoulder injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Minnie Ha Ha with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mrs. Fisher pleaded guilty to the charge. Minnie Ha Ha was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
