Robbie Gallen was slow to begin. Mepunga Paddy, Vectis Secret, Smurftastic and Jack's Alouette collided approaching the first turn checking Vectis Secret and Robbie Gallen. Smurftastic and Jack's Alouette collided on the first turn checking Vectis Secret, Robbie Gallen and Jack's Alouette. Robbie Gallen checked off Jack's Alouette approaching the home turn. Vectis Secret checked off Remo Wind on the home turn. Remo Wind and Vectis Secret collided several times in the home straight.
Vectis Secret was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its right thigh and right wrist. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards issued a warning to Ms. J. O'Neill, the trainer of Vectis Secret regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight.
