A pre-race sample was taken from Eagleeye Norris.
Santana, Big Roman and Eagleeye Norris were slow to begin. Big Roman checked off Assemble Nitro soon after the start. Eagleeye Norris and Assemble Nitro collided at the 300 metre mark. Big Roman checked off Virgil at the 250 metre mark and crossed to the outside as a result. Eagleeye Norris and Unusable collided at the 200 metre mark checking Eagleeye Norris and Assemble Nitro. Assemble Nitro and Unusable collided several times approaching the winning post.
Santana was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right triangle. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
